Fundaci\u00f3n Marcelino Bot\u00edn was founded in 1964 by Marcelino Bot\u00edn Sanz de Sautuola and his wife Carmen Yllera. It develops programmes within the fields of art and culture, education, institution building, science and rural development, and it also encompasses a Water Observatory.<\/p>\n
Centro Bot\u00edn presents and strengthens the Art Programme that Fundaci\u00f3n Bot\u00edn has been developing since the 1980s, with the support of its Art Advisory Board. Focused on education, support for contemporary art, and research, it is a dynamic and innovative program that involves artists, curators, institutions, and professionals to inspire and encourage all visitors to engage with art and creativity through its exhibitions, activities, and publications. The exhibition programme comprises solo exhibitions by artists connected to the Foundation\u2019s art workshops, created specifically for the architecture and context of Centro Bot\u00edn; group exhibitions featuring artists who have received Fundaci\u00f3n Bot\u00edn Art Grants, showcasing some of the most current artistic debates; ambitious presentations of research on historical and contemporary drawing; and exhibitions on masters of art history from new perspectives. Fundaci\u00f3n Bot\u00edn Collection reflects the Art Programme and is regularly on display.<\/p>\n
The mission of Centro Bot\u00edn is to spark people\u2019s creative capacity and attitude by providing access to and engagement with the arts, and using their tremendous potential to develop the emotional intelligence and creativity of everyone who visits us. The research carried out by the Fundaci\u00f3n Bot\u00edn and the Emotional Intelligence Center at Yale University forms the main focus of the educational programme at Centro Bot\u00edn. This programme consists of putting on artistic and cultural activities suitable for children, young people, families and adults, to awaken their curiosity, imagination and creativity, encouraging them to play and learn through the arts.<\/p>\n
Centro Bot\u00edn engages with and helps to strengthen the social and cultural fabric of local everyday life. A cultural and artistic hub that, through art, music, film, theatre, literature and dance, brings life to the city. It channels this aspiration through over 300 activities that take place in Centro Bot\u00edn itself, as well as in its outdoor amphitheatre and in the Pereda Gardens.<\/p>\n
