Para esta serie de dibujos, Roni Horn fusionó físicamente dos frases: «una rosa es una rosa es una rosa», del poema de Gertrude Stein, y la expresión «llegar oliendo a rosas» en 48 iteraciones distintas, lo que da lugar a un gran número de significados posibles, de lo jocoso a lo sexual.

Observa bien estos dibujos y busca en ellos una frase que seguro que te suena a una canción de un grupo español de los ochenta. Tanto la obra de Roni como la del grupo tienen como inspiración un poema de Gertrude Stein de 1913.
En esta serie Roni ha jugado con las palabras del verso de Stein y otra frase más, combinando las palabras de maneras distintas buscando muchas opciones. Esta técnica creativa se llama pensamiento divergente. ¿Se te ocurre alguna opción más?

For this series of drawings, Roni Horn physically cut together two phrases: ‘rose is a rose is a rose’ from Gertrude Stein’s poem, and the idiom ‘come up smelling like roses’ into 48 different iterations, resulting in a large number of possible meanings, ranging from humorous to sexual.

Look at these drawings closely and try to find a sentence that might remind you of a Spanish pop band of the 80s. Roni’s work, as well as that of the band, are inspired by a 1913 poem by Gertrude Stein. Here, Roni plays with Stein’s verse and another sentence, combining the words in different ways trying to find different options.This creative technique is called divergent thinking.
