This archive is presented as a gallery of portraits taken in different European countries of a series of bio females representing leading male characters from various films. The project contrasts the real circumstances in which the models in the images live with the fictional settings in film narratives. The impact of cinematic influence on the representation of different understandings of masculinity is therefore explored.

The portraits are accompanied by pictures of the cities where the models were photographed or where they live. They were given the opportunity to explain the reasons for their choice of character; in some cases, they turned down the invitation, whereas in other cases the portraits are accompanied by a card explaining the reasons behind their choice.
