The collaborative project Floating Studio, When the River Sounds Like the Amazon (2019–2022) is inspired by the relationship between human beings and water in the largest freshwater reserve on the planet: the Amazon River.
Drop by Drop, the Water is Drained was recorded during the artist’s journey to the Peruvian Amazon and includes documentation and sound explorations from various collective experiences, including workshops with young people titled Concerts to Become More Like Rivers.
Amazon, Between Reality and Fiction is based on the opera La Gioconda, the opening performance at the Teatro Amazonas in Manaus, Brazilian Amazon, on January 7, 1897, during the height of the rubber boom. The lyrics have been rewritten by the artist based on a collective experience.
The installation is accompanied by the publication Floating Studio, When the River Sounds Like the Amazon, which compiles the artist's research.
