Irijalba reflects upon how human beings have designed objects, inspired by forms and functions found in nature; and how in turn they have attempted to adapt nature to their own needs, thus profoundly modifying it. Humankind has indeed created some kind of a chimeric environment wherein it has become impossible to tell apart that which is human made or altered from that which is still natural. He uses photography and video to document actions or collect evidence. More recently, he has also been researching engineered materials to create sculptures with a definite organic flair, reflecting the human desire to replicate nature, using artificial materials.
In this instance, he shoots a travelling forward shot on what appears to be a forest road at night, using a powerful set of lights to illuminate the road and/or its immediate surroundings. Under the light, a landscape appears and vanishes again in the dark in a highly theatrical fashion that evokes cinema.
