Fundación Botín offers one grant a year to Spanish professionals who wish to complete their training in contemporary art abroad. These grants provide maximum funding of 30,000€ each for specialised training in exhibition organisation (curatorship) theory and techniques as well as museum management.

Since 2004, the Foundation has awarded grants each year for Exhibition Curatorship and Museum Management in order to foster specialised training at leading institutions in Europe and America, for those people interested in the curatorial field of contemporary art (from the avant-garde to the present day).

They offer comprehensive training in theory and techniques of museum management and exhibition organisation (Curatorial Studies).

Who can apply

Diploma or degree graduates or postgraduate students in Fine Arts, History of Art, Philosophy and Aesthetics, Literature, Humanities or Art Criticism may apply. Art professionals who do not fulfil the aforementioned requirements but who do have proven skills in the field may also apply.

Applicants must be aged between 22 and 40 and be of Spanish nationality or have resided in Spain for at least five years prior to making the application.

Funding

18,000€ for travel expenses, accommodation & maintenance and up to 12,000€ for registration fees at the chosen training centre.
