Botín Foundation Art and Culture

For the past 50 years, the Botín Foundation has been carrying out programmes in the fields of art and culture. The work done so far has placed the Foundation where it stands today, establishing a world-class art centre, Centro Botín, with a clear social mission: to encourage creativity through art in everybody, as a path to development and economic and social wealth.

Areas of activity

Throughout its history, the Botín Foundation has fostered a Visual Arts programme that focuses on three core areas: training in the form grants and international workshops coordinated by renowned artists; research into drawing; and outreach, mostly by means of international exhibitions (organised by the Foundation itself) that showcase the programme outcomes. The Foundation’s art collection reflects the mission and goals of this programme that has been carried out for 30 years now. Specialising in contemporary art, it includes works from a wide range of disciplines: painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, video and installation, and others.
