This sculptural installation originates from Jorge's participation in a contemporary art programme in the house of the architect Luis Barragán in Mexico. The artist reviewed the archive of Miguel Covarrubias, caricaturist, researcher, anthropologist, and ethnologist, which is partially stored in the house and was donated to Barragán by Rosa Rolando, Covarrubias's partner of many years.
Jorge selected a part of the archive devoted mainly to sketches of hands and feet. From these details, he produced a series of terracotta objects consisting of both faithful copies of the caricatured limbs – converted into volumes – and objects that speak of functionality – such as jugs and vessels. Having exhausted the sketches from that section of the archive, the artist also extracted details of illustrations from Covarrubias's books in the house library. The objects were distributed throughout the house and garden before becoming part of Fundación Botín's collection.
