The Fundación Botín Art Collection is a reflection of its Art Programme and its trajectory over more than forty years. Specialising in contemporary art, it contains works in a variety of media: painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, video and installation, etc.
Since 1993, the Collection, which continues to grow year on year, has contained works by directors of the Arts Workshop, established international artists such as Miroslaw Balka, Tacita Dean, Carlos Garaicoa, Mona Hatoum, Joan Jonas, Jannis Kounellis, Julie Mehretu, Antoni Muntadas, Juan Uslé, Cristina Iglesias and Martin Creed; as well as works by artists who have been awarded Fundación Botín Arts Scholarships. Together they form a plural mosaic of concepts and trajectories that, through their generational difference and disparate positions, provide a testimonial to art in the present day.
